Mary Downey has been a leader in the nonprofit community for 15 years. She has a BA from Trinity University and a MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University. Following a successful career in trust banking and investment management, Mary transferred her experience and expertise to the charitable sector.

In 1999, she formed a private company to support the fundraising programs of non-profit organizations. Downey Associates, LLC (formerly Cascada Group) specializing in resource development, fundraising, and the creation, management and assessment of planned giving programs. Her clients have included the Cancer Therapy & Research Center, Our Lady of the Lake University, The Children's Shelter, Trinity University, CASA Texas, Family Service Association and  other area nonprofits.

Mary has a broad knowledge of the nonprofit community and is currently President of the San Antonio chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She was on the executive board of the Planned Giving Council of San Antonio for over 8 years and served as its president in 2004 - 2006. Her other affiliations and community activities include:
